Hybrid implants are used to replace many lost teeth for both aesthetic purposes and functionality. These titanium posts are surgically inserted into the upper and lower arch of the mouth. Hybrid implants are anchored to the jawbone and may then be connected to crowns or dentures. Joanna Claustro DMD & Associates at Ashburn, VA, directed by Dr. Joanna Claustro, provides custom-made hybrid implants in order to restore our patients' delightful smiles. Made of high-quality, durable materials for a comfortable fit, hybrid implants appear like real teeth and last anywhere from 5 – 10 years.

Before the procedure, our team will obtain CT scans, digital x-rays, and impressions to evaluate the fit of your implants. Hybrid implants are surgically placed while you are under a general or local anesthetic. Once they are installed into the top and bottom jawbone, Dr. Claustro could incorporate dentures or a temporary crown to the implant while your permanent structures are being made. This also will help to ensure that the implants have time to incorporate into the jaw. After the hybrids are fully integrated, Dr. Claustro will secure the permanent fixtures.

Dr Claustro is amazing. She’s hands down the best dentist I’ve been to. She’s conservative in her methods and applies practical guidance and education on treatments.

I never write reviews but I had to for this - absolutely amazing experience. Who knew a dentist could also change the way your face looks??? I have tried MANY different face treatments for melasma and aging, and I have never seen results like I did with Dr. Claustro. The Opus Plasma did wonders to diminish wrinkles and tighten my skin, with no downtime at all. I coupled my treatment with the Resurfacing treatment and just wow. Anyone that actually has melasma knows that it is never going to go away, but I have not seen anything diminish it's appearance like this and I have tried EVERYTHING. Add in the amazing staff and Dr. Claustro herself, just top notch. Run don't walk to try these treatments! You will thank me!

Can I eat normally with hybrid implants?

Yes, one of the significant advantages of hybrid implants is that they allow you to eat a wide variety of foods with confidence. Once the implants are fully healed and the prosthetic teeth are in place, you should be able to enjoy a diet similar to what you had with your natural teeth. It's essential to follow any specific dietary recommendations you are given by Dr. Claustro, especially during the initial healing period.

How do I care for hybrid implants?

Caring for hybrid implants involves regular dental hygiene practices to ensure their longevity and prevent complications. Here are some essential care tips:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day using a soft-bristle toothbrush
  • Floss daily around your implants to remove plaque
  • Use an antimicrobial mouthwash to reduce bacteria
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups and cleanings

Proper care helps maintain the health of your implants and surrounding tissues.

Are hybrid implants comfortable?

Hybrid implants are designed to be comfortable and mimic the feel of natural teeth. Once fully integrated with the jawbone, they provide a stable and secure fit, eliminating the discomfort and movement often associated with traditional dentures. Patients find that hybrid implants feel natural, allowing them to eat, speak, and smile with confidence. Regular dental check-ups ensure ongoing comfort and proper fit.
