About Clear Braces
Clear braces are just like conventional metal braces except people will have trouble noticing them. Each smooth bracket is made of a translucent material to match your teeth. Dr. Joanna Claustro recommends clear braces if you want the advantages of standard metal braces but with a more subtle appearance. If you are interested in clear braces or researching other orthodontic options, contact Joanna Claustro DMD & Associates in Ashburn, VA to schedule an appointment.
What Are the Benefits of Clear Braces?
You may need braces, but you probably don’t want a mouthful of metal. Thankfully, there’s a way to get the classic effectiveness of traditional braces without most people knowing they’re there. Benefits of clear braces installed at Joanna Claustro DMD & Associates include:
- They are invisible or barely visible to most people
- May work faster than traditional metal braces
- Improved overall oral health
- May cause less gum irritation
- Increased self-confidence from a clearer smile
- Effective and strong
Who Is A Good Candidate For Clear Braces?
Clear braces are made from tooth-colored brackets, which makes them less visible than traditional metal braces. Therefore, they are an ideal selection for older teenagers and adults who need orthodontic treatment. However, they do require more care than metal braces due to the fact that they utilize clear elastic bands that may become stained or yellow if not properly maintained. As for removable teeth aligning treatments, such as Invisalign, patients run the chance of prolonging treatment if an aligner is missing or not worn for the recommended period of time. Thus, clear braces are a terrific option since they provide ongoing, uninterrupted treatment.
What to Expect from Clear Braces
On the day of your visit, we'll clean and polish your teeth with a special cleaner. Then, we will brush on a sealant, and the tips of your teeth will be lightly smoothed if needed. The clear brackets will then be placed on each tooth. Once the mounts are in their proper position, we'll utilize ultraviolet (UV) light to immediately harden the glue. This very simple process shouldn't cause any discomfort and secures the braces to your teeth. The last step is threading the wire through each of the brackets and using tiny white bands to fasten the wire to the brackets. The whole process generally takes a few hours to finish.
Joanna Claustro DMD & Associates Reviews
Dr Claustro and her team keep me coming back because of her and her awesome team. Always a great experience.
Dr Claustro is amazing. She’s hands down the best dentist I’ve been to. She’s conservative in her methods and applies practical guidance and education on treatments.
I never write reviews but I had to for this - absolutely amazing experience. Who knew a dentist could also change the way your face looks??? I have tried MANY different face treatments for melasma and aging, and I have never seen results like I did with Dr. Claustro. The Opus Plasma did wonders to diminish wrinkles and tighten my skin, with no downtime at all. I coupled my treatment with the Resurfacing treatment and just wow. Anyone that actually has melasma knows that it is never going to go away, but I have not seen anything diminish it's appearance like this and I have tried EVERYTHING. Add in the amazing staff and Dr. Claustro herself, just top notch. Run don't walk to try these treatments! You will thank me!
She and her staff were professional and very likable. I recommend that others seek her service.
