What to Expect from Dental Bonding and Contouring
Bonding and contouring can be generally completed in a single appointment in our office in Ashburn, VA. You should not need anesthesia, but sedation options may be reviewed with Dr. Claustro during your appointment for concerns, like anxiety or a strong gag reflex. As soon as you are ready, Dr. Claustro will apply the bonding material to the desired teeth aided by one of her assistants. The bonding material will be set before more layers are added. After the layers of composite resin are complete, Dr. Claustro will contour and smooth the filling material and your natural teeth for an even finish.
Joanna Claustro DMD & Associates Reviews
Dr Claustro is amazing. She’s hands down the best dentist I’ve been to. She’s conservative in her methods and applies practical guidance and education on treatments.
Dr Claustro and her team keep me coming back because of her and her awesome team. Always a great experience.
I never write reviews but I had to for this - absolutely amazing experience. Who knew a dentist could also change the way your face looks??? I have tried MANY different face treatments for melasma and aging, and I have never seen results like I did with Dr. Claustro. The Opus Plasma did wonders to diminish wrinkles and tighten my skin, with no downtime at all. I coupled my treatment with the Resurfacing treatment and just wow. Anyone that actually has melasma knows that it is never going to go away, but I have not seen anything diminish it's appearance like this and I have tried EVERYTHING. Add in the amazing staff and Dr. Claustro herself, just top notch. Run don't walk to try these treatments! You will thank me!
She and her staff were professional and very likable. I recommend that others seek her service.
One of them best Dentist that I have ever had, great staff and a wonderful office. Joanna is very skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate. She cares about her patients and is always working in your best interest.

About UsDental Bonding and Contouring FAQs
Why is dental bonding superior to other cosmetic dental procedures?
Dental bonding and contouring could be an appealing option versus other cosmetic dentistry procedures as it offers a straightforward and efficient solution to an array of issues. It's less costly and less time-intensive compared to treatments like veneers. The treatment carried out at our Ashburn, VA clinic also retains more enamel than similar treatments, ensuring the natural teeth remain robust and healthy.
How should I care for my teeth following bonding and contouring?
Bonded teeth don't require special care. Good oral hygiene practices like regular brushing with a soft-bristled toothbrush and flossing daily, along with regular dental checkups with Dr. Claustro, will help maintain your bonded teeth. You should also avoid habits like biting your nails or chewing on pens, which can chip the bonding material.
Are there any dietary restrictions after dental bonding and contouring?
After dental bonding and contouring, you should avoid foods and drinks that have the potential to stain your teeth for the first 48 hours. This includes coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco products. You should also avoid biting into hard foods or objects that could chip the bonding material, such as ice or hard candy.
